Along the I/O panel you will find a single PS/2 Keyboard and Mouse port. Two USB 2.0 (black) and two USB 3.0 (blue). Two USB 3.1 (red) ports are provided with one being a new reversible Type-C connection and two DAC ready ports with adjustable voltage (yellow). You will find two RJ-45 network connections, one is powered by a Killer E2500 controller while the other uses an Intel GbE controller. Video connections are made possible using gold plated HDMI and Display Port followed by gold plated 8 channel analog audio with digital connections over optical.
The Gigabyte Z270X Gaming 5 is equipped with the exclusive AMP-UP Audio Technology powered by a Realtek ALC1150. With Gigabyte AMP-UP Audio, gamers and audiophiles are able to experience crisp, ultra realistic sound effects while gaming, and the richest possible sound experience.
For those wishing to tune their audio experience the OP-AMP is replaceable and the gain switch at the bottom allows for higher Ohm headphones to be used.
Like on previous motherboards the onboard audio is constructed on an electrically separated section of the motherboard to reduce EMI and offer the best chance at good audio reproduction. At first I thought there was some PCB trickery that prevented the audio components from passing though the PCB but in reality the entire controller is just extremely small occupying the bottom most section of the board.
