There was a time when people bought things because they satisfied a need. Often these products had the quality you could respect and could even be repaired. Fast forward several years and we are living in the thick of a disposable consumer economy were the items you buy can be compared to a Styrofoam cup. There is nothing special about them, they are cheaply made and designed to be thrown away. Sure, they satisfy a need but you sacrifice quality for the lower cost with the expectation that the consumer will not know the difference or be able to identify there is a problem.
This little story exemplifies the current PC market. Computer users often complain about the high cost of computer components and then wonder why features are getting removed when these products finally hit the market.

For the record, we know a few things about audio and how to setup a proper gaming rig and it pains us to see highly paid gaming influencers pushing sub-standard products claiming they are the best thing since they got laid. We all know they are pushing the gear because they either got sponsored or really have no clue what they are talking about. (The latter is even true with Techutainment Channels) and, that is wrong
The real problem is that consumers are buying into this with open arms and empty wallets. Sadly, this trend will continue because in our disposable consumer society there are very few who actually do their research or even bother to know what they are buying.
