When the first Ryzen was released back in 2017 the AMD Zealots rejoiced at the return of AMD power to DIY gaming enthusiasts.  Sadly, the platform suffered from single core performance and bad memory support but, over the years AMD improved.  The CPU moved to an LGA style socket, introduced new technology and was one of the best platforms for DDR5 memory overclocking despite being a little slow.

Thing is, the modern hardware enthusiast knows that performance is limited and is now looking at platforms that provide more fun an excitement over raw performance.

Keep in mind that this is our first episode back after a month-long break due to a rash of schedule conflicts and life events so, things might be a little rough.  We do apologize to our regular listeners who had to slog through the travesty of the Borderlands episode for an extra four weeks.  I will also, personally apologize for the current episode and… let’s be honest, the X870 and Ryzen 9 9950X isn’t all that interesting, much less so for over 30minute of content even if it does include some interesting overclocking facts and a high-level discussion of the SlimSAS interface.
