Ryzen Memory Record
Dennis has taken a keen interest in memory overclocking especially since Crucial and Ballistix have re-entered the performance memory arena. As was mentioned in Episode 104 memory overclocking is just a subset of CPU overclocking where you are stressing the memory controller and RAM modules to see how fast they can run. There are very few benchmarks specific to memory so the goal here is just to see how fast you can make the memory run.
The complication comes with the binning process and knowing just how to adjust your memory modules, how much voltage to use and what temperature to set. The latest memory record was set at a Micron Insight with the help of the overclocker OGS and a rather low end Ryzen 5 CPU.

Building a Threadripper 3
Last episode we spent some time building a machine just fast enough to run COD:MW and thought it would be fun to dream build a Threadripper 3 and see just how much it would cost. Some stops were established such as limiting storage to a single drive while other aspects of the build were realistic based on how much you are spending just to establish the Motherboard and Processor.
