    Testing and Conclusion

The testing setup will be via RCA from my gaming rig via the excellent Creative X5 DAC.  The sound bar is under my monitor and unblocked at about 4 feet from my primary listening spot. This puts the distance to the primary sound stage at about 4 feet.  The office is about 12x12 and completely closed to let the sound bar work with the acoustics of the room.

I typically run a much higher-end Creative setup on my desktop based around the same Sound Blaster X5 so I will be using the Creative Sound Blaster GS3 setup to compare.  I fired up some of my favorite FLAC tracks and cycled through the modes via the remote. I expected the Teton to struggle when compared to the higher priced Creative offering but the sound was surprising. For music sound was crisp and bass was noticeable when switched to the Music mode.

Majority hasn’t included a mode for gaming so I tested in several modes.  Overall, Music seemed the crispest but the Movie mode brings in some noticeable bass.  The deep booming sound of heavy tans in the Delta Force Alpha definitely pushed the included driver making me wish for the dedicated sub the Teton Plus brings to the table.

For Home theater testing, I hooked the Teton up to my Samsung Q70C via ARC compatible HDMI. I typically run a high-end Samsung HW-Q990C 11.1.4 Soundbar as my daily driver and consider a soundbar option an excellent choice for all but the most discerning audiophiles.  It’s a high bar but the Teton makes a valiant effort.  I would definitely say the Teton sounds better than most TV speaker solutions.

With HDR enabled media, the Teton sounds crisp in mids and handles dialog well. When pushing fill Atmos sound, the limitations of this budget minded soundbar quickly become more noticeable.

    Conclusion

The Majority Teton 2.1 Bluetooth Soundbar is a fantastic option for a budget sound solution.  I found the sound quality punches above its weight based on the price point. The Tetons look great and offer ARC functionality at a fraction of what I would have expected to pay.

Majority has packed a lot of features into the Teton. If you are still using your built-in speakers, you don’t know what you are missing. Audiophiles will need to look elsewhere for a dedicated subwoofer and surrounds but for those looking for a good entry level sound bar that looks great, the Majority Teton has what you need at an amazing price.
