    Power Supply Layout and Features

Thermaltake has packed the GF1 series with features that quickly earn it the Premium Edition moniker but, one of the most compelling is hidden inside.  The GF1 series features a no cable design which means the back panel and the PCB are directly connected via a copper plate.

As they say wires are inefficent and solid copper allows for more power with better heat dissipation.

Internal construction is also at a premium, with 100% high quality Japanese capacitors rated to 105°C/221°F. These capacitors, and other upgraded internals, provide efficiency up to 90% and are certified to 80 PLUS Gold.  Thermaltake stands behind the quality with an industry leading 10 year warranty.

The GF1 1000W is a single +12V rail design with plenty of power output to support all but the most demanding builds.

While this version of the GF1 does not have RGB, contrary to some reports, it does have a 140mm hydraulic bearing fan with intelligent RPM controls.  The fan is mounted on a set of anti-vibration pads helping to make it nearly silent under standard loads.

A switch on the back will enable, or disable, the Smart Zero Fan mode.  With it enabled the PSU will disable the fan when PSU loads are under 30%.  In my testing the fan only enagaged when I was actively gaming and was otherwise off.

Included with the power supply is a handy bag for those modular cables, a set of cable ties, and a simple user’s guide.
