Benchmarks - Overclocked
As with all of our reviews, we pit the default speed system against the overclocked one in a head-to-head byte match. The effective overclock for these tests is 4.1GHz @ 250HT. This is a little slower than we would have liked but after raising the CPU North Bridge frequency to compensate we started seeing some respectable numbers.

Overclocking Conclusion
It has been awhile since we have overclocked an AMD processor and almost forgot how much fun it was. The 1090T Black Edition responded well to everything we did until we approached 300HT. As it would turn out the system would not run at 290HT+ and our attempts to try resulted in random BSOD's and BIOS Corruption. Backing the system down to 250HT not only stabilized everything but also allowed us to match frequency with our memory modules.
The memory we used is designed for the Sandy Bridge platform and leaving the modules to auto adjust proved to be the best option. The obvious benefit here would be to use AMD tuned memory and leave the Sandy modules in the box, but we didn't have that option this time around.
As with any overclocking adventure your mileage can, and will most likely, vary. The important thing is to use the right tools for the job and have fun while doing it.
