    Introduction

Gigabyte is a name familiar to custom builders and PC enthusiasts for more than 20 years.  Most of us have owned or drooled over one of their performance motherboards or video cards at some point.  Today we will be looking at their hot new wireless gaming mouse form the Aivia Series, the Aivia M8600 Wireless Macro Gaming Mouse.

Taking on a gaming mouse can be challenging but by taking on a wireless gaming mouse Gigabyte has set expectations high for the M8600.  I have always been a wireless fan and use a Logitech G7 as my go to mouse but admittedly it has its shortcomings.  The M8600 attempts to overcome the typical shortcomings by offering a laundry list of features including 6500 DPI and macro programming.
Generally we don't have much to talk about when a new mouse arrives at the Labs.  The M8600 has definitely broken the mold on mouse packaging!  Arriving in a stylish tube, the Aivia branding and colorful graphics pop out at you in a show of vivid colors against a black background.

The attractive tube has a solid construction and breaks open to reveal two separate sections.  One section to contains the mouse while the other section contains the rest of the goodies in a handy travel case.  The packaging even includes a 3" driver disk.
Rounding out the included goodies are a set of 1.8m nylon braided USB cables with gold-plated connectors, an extra LI-ion battery, a charging stand and an extra set of Teflon feet.  One cable will be used to power the charging station which also doubles as the wireless base station.
