Metallicgear Neo Micro Aluminum Case Review

OF course nobody cares about the outside of the case right? It’s all about fitting 200 hard drives and 40 140mm fans, or at least the option to. Well, you might be shocked to know that having more than two hard drives is a sign of mental illness (with the exception of RAID, cause: awesome) and cooling fans make noise so having less is actually more.
As I had mentioned before the Metallicgear Neo features tempered glass side panels on both sides with some very smart, and decorative, blackout graphics to hide things like ugly power supplies, cables and dust. (not really the dust, you gotta clean that yourself )
Both tempered glass side panel is held in place with four thumb screws which are mounted on rubber posts.
The Neo Micro comes with two 2.5” SSD trays and a full drive drive cage behind the front panel. This allows you to run up to four storage devices not counting the M.2 your motherboard likely supports.
Normally adding more storage locations would be easy however, with the Neo you only get four drive locations. Any more would be promoting mental illness that that isn’t good with enthusiast computer hardware.
You cannot ask for much when a case is properly sized for Micro ATX motherboards. You can fit a full sized video card into the Neo and cable routing is handled with large gaps built into the motherboard tray. DIY watercooling is an option with this case however radiator selection will be a challenge which lends itself well for AIO cooling and high quality cooling fans.
This is a down-market case after all. If you want to do SLI and full DIY dual waterloops you need to keep looking, or must really like punishment.
