Cooler Master HAF 700 Review - The Berserker
Author: Darren McCainHAF 700 Case Interior and Cooling Continued
The Berserker is almost entirely tool-less. Thanks to a series of thumb screws and 90-degree rotating latches, you can install almost any component including your GPUs.
Removing the center panel provides access to a fully integrated PWM/ARGB Hub that supports a total of 5x ARGB 5v Ports and 7x PWM ports via USB 2.0.
The HAF 700 comes with a rotatable fan/radiator bracket located at the bottom of the chassis. An additional SickleFlow 120mm fan is mounted in the center location. This bracket can be rotated and mounted in multiple locations based on your build.
Air from the bottom runs through a removable filter that can be removed from side panel. No need to lift your full build to keep things clean. The tall feet provide good access for air to flow through the bottom of the case.
This bracket can be mounted in the front of the case or in front of the motherboard mounts. Up to three 140 mm fans or a radiator up to 420mm in size. This does open up some interesting custom cooling configurations!
We don’t always comment on build quality but the HAF series really does sets the bar high. The chassis is extremely stable with class leading build quality you would expect from a case at this price point.
Here is a closer look at the middle panel. Both this panel and the individual drive mounts offer tool-less drive installation through the FrictionMount system. Pins are inserted int your drive and push into place.
Both the individual drive mounts and the center panel have multiple mounting options for all your accessories and drives. The FrictionMounts and the 90-degree latches make hardware installations and changes a breeze.
The Berserker also contains a fully removable HDD cage. Since most modern builds don’t require traditional rotational drives, this cage is completely removable providing room for even more customization options.
The hard drive cage provides support for four more storage devices. Both the cage and the drives can be installed with out tools.
