Cooler Master HAF 500 Homecoming Classic Review

It’s hard to miss the gigantic 200mm fans mounted in the front of the HAF 500 but this is far from a one trick pony. This 516 x 224 x 510mm (20.32 x 8.82 x 20.08in) case will hold motherboards from Mini-ITX to E-ATX, though E-ATX builds may require some creative cable management!
A large tempered glass panel dominates the left hand side giving visibility to the entire build. This tinted panel is held in place by a set of pins to facilitate quick, tool-less removal. For added security a thumb screw can be used to hold the panel in place. A large mesh opening provides plenty of room for the front fans to pull air.
The back and right sides of the case are much more traditional. It features only a single 120mm SickleFlow ARGB fan and vented expansion slot covers. Given the additional real estate, I would have loved to see a 140mm fan in back to support the HAF concept.
Front panel controls are located at the top of the case and consist of a single large power button in the shape of the Cooler Master logo, an analog audio connection and three USB ports: One for USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type C and two for USB 3.2 Gen 1 (USB 3.0).
Top fan locations are covered by a removable magnetic fan filter that helps to hide top mounts and can be easily cleaned.
Expansion slots on the HAF 500 number seven and each feature a slotted cover to improve cooling. Like the H500, the lack of venting on this panel continues the airflow decision to improve cooling and forcing more air up and out the top.
Four large feet keep the case firmly in place and provide plenty of breathing room across the bottom. A removable filter keeps your power supply breathing right.
