    Case Modifications

When it comes to modifications we can usually spot them rather quickly however with this case it would seem that Cooler Master has already considered every angle.  We talked about cooling and how every fan position can be converted to support larger, and smaller, fans.  You may have also noticed the variety of places available to route cables including two sets of cable ports on the motherboard tray.
The Cosmos II supports video cards up to 15 inches in length but if you remove the middle HDD rack this clearance jumps up to 20 inches.  You likely won't need this for an expansion card but this gives you a great place to mount your pump and/or reservoir.

Other modifications include custom paint with the popular option of removing the metal mesh and paint the underlying plastic.  This gives you a nice ghosted effect that changes depending on your viewing angle.  Sadly due to the anodized finish the side panels will be limited to stickers since the paint won't stick.
Overall case construction is extremely good with extremely smooth action on the panel hinges and various sliding doors.  The motherboard tray is not removable but does feature plenty of room given that you could install the famed EVGA SR-2 into this case.
Typical motherboards like the Gigabyte X58A-OC fit quite nicely in the Cosmos II with plenty of room between the motherboard and drive gages.  The ten expansion slots tend to make this motherboard seem small in the chassis.  This comes as a surprise considering that the top fans are extremely close to the Hyper 612 that we used in this build.
