    Case Layout and Features

The Strix Helios GX601 case is the first official ROG case from Asus and acts as their flagship design. As such, it comes loaded with features. The carry strap is integrated into the design but can be removed easily due to the sturdy Velcro style fasteners.

Three large tinted tempered glass panels framed by large aluminum rails dominate the design. As with most modern designs, there is no support for front panel bays.

The back is more traditional with two tiny push button latches in the top corners to remove the side glass panels.

Controls are located across the front edge of the top.  This panel includes: 1 x Headphone, 1 x Microphone, 4 x USB 3.1 Gen1, 1 x USB 3.1 Gen2 Type C, LED Control Button, Fan Control Button and a Reset Button.

The included accessory box contains the usual screws and fasteners, your vertical GPU bracket, black cable ties, a pump mounting bracket and your EPS extension cable kit.  While the vertical GPU bracket is included, the supporting cable is sold separately as the ASUS RS200 ROG Strix Riser Cable.

A closer look shows the support for vertical GPU installation on the right and the inclusion of eight expansion slots rather than the usual seven. Slot covers alternate between black and white to support the theme!

A single ROG branded 140 mm exhaust fan comes preinstalled in the back. Three more ROG 140mm fans are installed down the front side. The model appears to be A1425L 125. Two removable brackets let you easily mount fans and radiators in both the front and top locations.

Fan/Radiator support is good. 1 x 140or 120mm rear exhaust, 3x120 or 2x 40mm in top and 3x120 or 3x140 mm up front with radiator support up to 360mm up top and 420mm in front.

One of the more interesting features is the acrylic swing door panel for hiding the bundled fan hub and cable management. This translucent panel works with the tempered glass to hide most of your cable clutter. This panel is one of the few components that does require a screwdriver to access.

The Strix Helios supports motherboards ranging from Mini-ITX to E-ATX form factors with a large opening to provide access to the back of the motherboard mounting.

With the cover open, we can see the included ARGB hub. It’s an odd touch to support three pin fan connections. Six are included with four preinstalled. Strangely there is no decorative/ARGB protective cover.

There are four removable drive mounts along the back. Cable management is aided by the large Velcro straps and plenty of surface mounting options.
