CyberPowerPC Factory Tour: What it takes to build a Gaming PC
Author: Dennis GarciaProduct Development
Product development is where all the magic happens. This is where new hardware is tested and also where new system designed are created.
Most of the lab and hardware is dedicated to long term product testing. For instance this Titan card was used to determine if adding foam blocks to the card would ensure enough air would get to the cooler if placed in a Mini ITX computer case.
Speaking of Mini ITX the motherboard pictured here is the new AsRock X99 Mini ITX motherboard. I remember when X99 launched many people were asking if Mini ITX was an option for the new processor. While this motherboard proves that to be true you lose much of what makes X99 such a powerful platform. For instance quad channel memory is reduced to dual and you only get one 16x PCI Express slot leaving the other 24x lanes unused.
Even if the product many seem pointless it is tested here to determine if it can be used and if there will be any support issues down the road.
PCI Express SSDs are the hot ticket in 2015 and even though they are expensive they are first tested in the CyberPowerPC development lab. The two systems shown here were part of a Windows 10 qualification testing platform using both the Intel 750 and HyperX Predator for compatibility and speed.
