    Testing and Conclusion

The testing setup will be via USB from my gaming rig.  The sound bar is under my monitor and unblocked at about 4 feet from my primary listening spot. This puts the distance to the primary sound stage at about 4 feet.  The office is about 12x12 and completely closed to let the sound bar work with the acoustics of the room.

I typically run a much higher-end Creative setup on my desktop based around the Sound Blaster X5 so I dug up a classic Logitech Z313 setup to compare.  The Logitech setup has a modest separate subwoofer but I was immediately taken by how well the Sound Blaster GS3 performed. Sound clarity was impressive as was the range.

Turning on the Superwide brightens the sound stage using some of the processing wizardry that Creative has made famous.  I know its all done in processing but I can’t help but feel things sound better and more immersive.  Do I miss a dedicated sub? Yes, but I can’t help but think the Sound Blaster GS3 is good enough to make my Logitech setup obsolete!

    Conclusion

The Creative Sound Blaster GS3 shows how great things can come in a little package!  Sound quality punches well above its weight and the functionality should satisfy most users craving external speakers without breaking the bank.

For those looking for a fuller sound, you will need to jump up to a larger Creative soundbar setup like the terrific Sound Blaster Katana V2. But for those that desire good external speakers that look and sound great without taking up too much space.  This is exactly what you are looking for!
