Cooler Master Storm Sirus 5.1 Gaming Headset Review

With the CM Storm name attached, Cooler Master has a lot of hype to live up to.  I am happy to report they have exceeded my expectations.  The headset provides crystal clear surround sound with the best bass response I have experienced in a 5.1 headset.  The positional audio had me hunting down my old Lucas Film THX test DVD to see how accurate I could tune the system for that perfect sound.

After an extended gaming session you could tell that headset has a tight fit and can get a bit hot with the leatherette ear cups on, but the same can be said of any similar setup.  The option to switch to the micro-fiber cups provides a feel for everyone and makes the gaming experience much cooler overall.  According to my steam profile I have spent a great deal of time gaming since I started testing and they still fit firmly and feel like new! 

Audio performance is very good and as I mentioned before there were some instances where I actually had to turn the bass down which is unheard of in a gaming headset, especially one without a power assisted rumble module.  The True 5.1 nature of the Storm Sirus gaming headset proved that surround gaming is possible with this product and made picking off rouge snipers extremely easy as they tried to sneak up behind me.
