    Product Layout and Features

The LEPA Max Brom line’s distinctive look is based around the Q-Brick but the power supply looks just as good without it.  The black finish has a minimal amount of those annoying stickers and the B800M logo looks good on both sides.  I also like the gold LEPA Cat.  This Cheetah like image would look just as cool etched across the sides.

We are fans of the black and red around here but the B800M also comes with a black Q-Brick for a more subtle look.  LEPA has even included a nice looking cloth bag with the same cool logo for the extra modular cables, a power cable and a set of Velcro cable ties for cable management.

An eleven bladed 120mm fan provides quiet and efficient cooling thanks to its hydraulic ball bearing design.  At idle the fan is so quiet I had to look to make sure the power was on!

The Q-Brick may look like a gimmick at first but there are sound reasons behind the design.  It provides anti-shock protection, anti-static defense, reduces vibration and provides a nice rubber frame for ease of handling.  As an added bonus, it looks pretty good too.

A single +12V rail powers all the MaxBrom line.  In the B800M 780W are reserved for +12V, 130W are split between the +3.3V and +5V outs and eth remaining ~16W are split between the -12V and +5Vsb outputs.  Input is rated at 8/5 A. In short there is plenty of power for all of the current CPUs and dual GPU builds with power to spare.

As you would expect from a quality 800W in this price range, the B800M is rated 80 Plus Bronze for up to 88% power conversion.

80 Plus (trademarked 80 PLUS) is a voluntary certification program intended to promote efficient energy use in computer power supply units (PSUs). Launched in 2004 by Ecos Consulting, it certifies products that have more than 80% energy efficiency at 20%, 50% and 100% of rated load, and a power factor of 0.9 or greater at 100% load. That is, such PSUs will waste 20% or less electric energy as heat at the specified load levels, thus reducing electricity use and bills compared to less efficient PSUs. Sometimes, rebates are given for manufacturers who use 80 Plus-certified PSUs. -Wikipedia
