    Introduction

There is one company that is synonymous with PC audio and that is Creative.  They were one of the first to offer a commercially viable sound solution for the personal computer and have been building on that success ever since.

This year at CES there was basically one item on display that was new and innovative and started from an unlikely source.  The Creative Pebble.

Pebble is a desktop speaker system that is designed to be both high quality and low cost.  There have been several revisions of the pebble including one that was reviewed on Hardware Asylum called the Pebble X Plus which offered support for a dedicated subwoofer.

On display during CES, Creative was showing the latest version in the Pebble series the Nova.

The Creative Pebble Nova offers a familiar round form factor with an upward firing full range speaker.

Turning the speaker around you’ll also find an integrated woofer that is duplicated across both Right and Left speakers.  The spherical shape of the Pebble and axial location of the woofer position in relation to the full range speaker compliment the audio quality to make a pleasingly compact and great sounding speaker system.

Other items on display include a new SuperFXi enabled sound bar called the Sound Blaster GS5 SXFi and the hot new audio interface the Sound Blaster G8.

The Sound Blaster G8 is by far one of the most advanced Hi Resolution DACs on the market supporting high-end headphones without compromising on the Creative audio technology that we have grown to love.
