Consumer Electronics Show 2015 HyperX Visit
Author: Dennis GarciaIntroduction
For those of you who may not know Kingston has spun off the HyperX brand to handle all of the consumer brands and eSports competitions. As a result we will no longer see some of the mainstream products but rather all of the juicy coolness.
The first item is the new HyperX Predator DDR4 memory. These are the same modules used in the HyperX Overclocking Takeover competition and happen to be quite good. The demo here is showing the first ever DDR4 3000Mhz 64GB four module memory kit. In a world where 16gb kits seem to be the limit having modules of this density and speed is unheard of.
Don’t ask for the price ;)
PCI Express SSDs are also a hot item during CES and HyperX was showing some new Predator M.2 modules that can be installed on your motherboard or used on a standalone PCI Express board. The cards are powered by a Marvell controller and come with speed up to 1400MB/s Read and 1000MB/s write. Currently capacities are 240GB and 480GB but a 960GB version should ship later this year.
The final item in this highlight is the HyperX Cloud II gaming headset. These might be one of the most comfortable gaming headsets I have ever used. Each headset features 53mm drivers along with a virtual 7.1 sound controller that connects via USB to your computer. A standard 3.5mm jack is used to connect the headset to the controller or virtually any other device or system.
Price will be $99.99
