    Crysis 2

Crysis 2 is a CryEngine 3 powered game designed to set the standards for high quality graphics.  The game engine has been upgraded to support DX11 and features Nvidia technologies such as native 3D Vision support.  We are using the Adrenaline Crysis 2 Benchmark Tool and the Central Park map to capture framerates.

Crysis 2 is our first real video game benchmark in this suite and shows predictable scores as we would expect them to be.  Some have complained that Crysis 2 as a benchmark is no good but I think the results here will mirror most everything we have to show.

Of course when someone builds a reliable Crysis 3 benchmark we might upgrade, until then DX11 extensions will have to do.

You may notice that as we get to the game benchmarks there is a sizable difference between the ultra high-res 2560x1600 resolution and the next step down at 1920x1080.  Considering that most gamers are running the 1080p resolution it is no wonder that some considerable effort went into making sure games would  run butter smooth at that res, The interesting thing to note in this benchmark and the games to follow is that we are actually CPU bound at 1080p meaning that the only way to go faster is to overclock the CPU.

Bottom line: To get the most from the GTX 780 Ti you need larger displays which makes 1080p the starting point for your display search.
