KitSound Voice One Alexa Enabled Smart Speaker Review

KitSound has carefully crafted the Voice One’s appearance to not be the same old boring box with a grill while still keeping the budget under control. KitSound calls the look nostalgic though I find it a refreshing change from the more common grill covered cubes most competitors use.
Even the onboard controls are stylish and easy to use.
The controls are based around a central ring that doubles as a volume control. Inside the circle is an LED light ring that mimics the Alexa lighting when active and stays a soft blue when idle. The remaining buttons are as follows: Standby or Mute toggle, Tap to talk (inside the circle), input Mode switch, Action button and the KS LED for additional feedback.
As you can see here the Nano surface extends around the sides and accents the curved shape nicely. Inside the Voice One is powered by a set of custom designed 2.5 inch 20 Watt (2x10) drivers facing the sides. These drivers are assisted by a Bass Reflex port specifically tuned to enhance the bass response and ported out the back.
Connectivity options are arranged across the back of the Voice One. Power is provided by a traditional power cable input. A 5V 2.1A USB port is included to make charging your wireless devices simple. A 3.5 inch aux port and wireless WPS link are also available.
KitSound ships the Voice One with a remote control that looks a lot like the current generation Amazon voice control. The remote may not have a mic for voice input but it does mirror the front panel controls pretty closely. I found using the voice control for Alexa and Spotify to be easier than the remote and almost never touched it.
