Cooler Master MasterLiquid Maker 92 AIO Watercooler Review

Installing the MasterLiquid Maker 92 is extremely easy and the universal mounting hardware will allow the process to be the same on all platforms from AMD to the latest Intel sockets. Most platforms will require the included backplate to help build a base for the heatsink to mount to.
On LGA 2011 the process is a little simpler.
The first step will be to locate the threaded risers and install them into the heatsink mounting holes around the CPU socket. These are 4mm threaded holes so be sure to match up the proper end.

Next install the cooler and check for proper clearance around your hardware. I tested the cooler in both the vertical and horizontal position and found that it was plenty tall to clear memory modules and standard motherboard heatsinks.
Once you have determined proper fitment and fan location install some thermal paste and get ready for the next step. I am a supporter of the “5 dot” method with 5 dots of thermal paste on the CPU. This allows for the paste to spread evenly across the CPU ensuring that the entire CPU is covered in paste with minimal bubbles.
Unlike with the threaded risers the nuts holding the MasterLiquid in place are considerably smaller and somewhat difficult to hold. The tops are slotted for a straight blade screw driver and two of them are easily accessible while the others are located under the radiator hoses and virtually impossible to get a tool on.
I used pliers, YMMV.
I found that finger tight is enough to secure the pumpblock however EXTREME care needs to be used to ensure the pumpblock is centered over the CPU and that all four corners have equal pressure.
The 92mm fans come preinstalled in a push pull configuration. I would recommend making sure the exhaust side of the cooler is facing the exhaust fan in your case to ensure CPU heat is removed as quickly as possible.
