    Case Layout and Features

The Redline Series has been marketed as a “value enthusiast tower” which can be interpreted as a case designed for the enthusiast market with enthusiast features but at a fraction of the cost.  As we know lowering costs has an impact on quality and to compensate for that you can get the RL06 in a variety of different trim packages.  If you want tempered glass you may pay a little extra, if a traditional acrylic side panel is all you want, you can save a few bux.

One of the main features of the RL06 is cooling.  Much like the SilverStone Primera PM01 the whole front panel is a mesh designed to let in the maximum amount of air while still keeping larger items like cats from getting tangled in the fans.

Turning the case around you will notice a standard case layout with a single 120mm fan location near the I/O and seven expansion slots matching a typical ATX motherboard.  At the bottom of the case is where the power supply goes.

Normally the side windows in a computer case are cut to only show areas of interest.  This has changed in recent years to a point where everyone wants to see everything.  The window on our RL06 is a large piece of shaded tempered glass.  It attaches with four thumb screws and sits on rubber posts to keep the glass from getting damaged.

The RL06 comes with a full length PSU cover with a very large SilverStone logo in the middle.  Sadly this logo doesn’t light up but does obscure quite nicely when the side glass is installed.  As you would expect the PSU cover extends the entire length of the case and doesn’t have any provisions to use thicker fans or radiators larger than 240mm.

I was rather suprised to see that the interior panels are very flat.  No excessive embossing, no stamps and very few extra holes.  You'll get a large opening for heatsink access and plenty of access holes to pass cables though and hide the excess.
