Lian Li PC-K5WX Ebonsteel Case Review

Front panel controls are located across the top of the case and offer the typical functionality including two USB 2.0 and one USB 3.0 ports.  Analog headphone and microphone jacks can be found to the left.  While some enthusiasts and reviewers may complain that “more” features need to be included while the fact of the matter is, you only need this.

The PC-K5 comes with two external drive bays which can be clearly seen on the front bezel.  While Lian Li could have blended these with the front bezel design I suspect that was never the intention and would have raised manufacturing costs.

As indicated by the case specifications there are a total of five fan locations in the K5.  The case comes with three fans preinstalled and can be found at the front and back of the case.  Given that this is the upgraded WX edition the two front fans are also LED lighted.

Additional fans can be installed at the top of the case and is also the most likely location for an AIO watercooler install.

Under the case you’ll find a removable fine mesh filter covering the intake location for the PSU.  The rubber feet are typical standoffs to prevent the case from slipping around and will even help to protect hardwood floors, assuming that is your flooring choice in the computer room.
