Phanteks Enthoo EVOLV ATX Tempered Glass Edition Case Review

While the tempered glass is framed perfectly to show off the interior components you get a much better view by removing the side panels. These are secured using standard thumb screws with felt padding to prevent damaging the glass and keeping the glass from rattling.
All of the case metal that touches the glass is also covered in felt making this one of the most secure tempered glass installs I have ever seen.
The interior of the Phanteks Enthoo EVOLV is a little different from most ATX cases in that they have taken a minimalist approach to the design and by this I mean you only get what you need leaving you more room to install the stuff you want.
Longer video cards up to 420mm in length can be installed in the EVOLV provided you are not using any of the interior 3.5” drive trays. Most watercooling enthusiasts will use the area normally reserved for hard drives to install their watercooling gear which also will limit the length of video card you can install.
The back of the case allows you access to the lower 3.5” drive rack and dual tray mounted 2.5” SSD trays. You will find two grommets for cable routing and over an inch of space behind the motherboard tray for cable management.
Despite lacking an external 5.25” drive bay the Phanteks Enthoo EVOLV ATX has plenty of storage options. The main HDD rack is located under the case divider and supports two drives in pull out plastic trays.
The rack is also removable to better support watercooling items like pumps and reservoirs. The slots seen in the bottom of the case allow you to position the included pump mounting bracket however you need. Next to the drive rack you will find four rubber mounts for an alternative HDD bracket that is sold separately.
Not counting the two 3.5” drives located in the basement of the case you can install up to five more next to the motherboard using the included HDD tray style bracket. This tray are painted metal and simply hang off two hooks in the case and are secured with two case screws. The plastic panel will need to be removed to allow cable access and offers a very clean look, both for the drives and cable management.
A total of three dedicated 2.5” drive locations can be found in the Phanteks Enthoo EVOLV. Two are located behind the motherboard tray and will be in full view with the tempered glass panels.
The third location is on the motherboard side of the case on the divider.
