Cooler Master MasterBox NR400 Case Review
Author: Darren McCainCase Layout and Features
The MasterBox NR400 may be a mid-tower chassis but the design is specifically targeted at full sized components.
The entire case is finished in semi-gloss black with an optional tinted Tempered Glass panel on the left side. The front panel is almost entirely a fine mesh that breathes well and Cooler Master claims it provides solid dust filtration too.
The back is a more traditional layout with four expansion slots and an included 120mm AirFlow fan with an optimized blade designed fan (@1000rpm). A second 120mm AirBalance blade designed fan (@1200rpm) comes up front. Replacing the front fans with a good set of RGB fans will create a cool diffused effect!
The optional 5.25” drive bay (with the ODD option) provides some backwards compatibility for those of us still running a drive or maybe a fancy fan controller. Removing the Odd bay extends the front cooling to support up to 3x120mm fans.
A similar filter covers most of the top surface. The top also houses the Power, Reset and IO Ports, two USB 3.0 jacks and a single 3.5mm headphone jack. The choice of a single 4-pole jack is interesting but most headphones these days seem to have the option I guess.
