Cooler Master MasterCase Pro 3 Case Review
Author: Dennis GarciaBreaking down the MasterCase Pro 3
One of the biggest visual differences between the MasterCase Pro 3 and MasterCase 5 is the inclusion of a mesh top cover and fan bracket. Not only does it completely reshape the top of the case but also adds an important radiator support bracket to the top of the case.
Despite the modular aspects of the MasterCase Pro 3 the layout is very traditional with motherboard, drives and powersupply in their normal locations.
The PSU is located at the bottom of the case and covered with a dual chamber partition to separate the two sections. Across the top of this panel you’ll find several openings for cable management and two mounting plates for 2.5” SSDs.
MasterCase Pro 3 comes with a removable drive cage with removable plastic trays supporting both 3.5” and 2.5” drives.
While the optional external drive cage can only be positioned at the top of the case the hard drive enclosure can be repositioned anywhere along the perforated rack.
This kind of versatility goes a long way when it comes to customizing your case allowing the majority of us who only need a single hard drive to clean up the case internals with very little modification. Of course for those who actually need more hard drive locations they can buy expanded drive cages from Cooler Master and install them however they want.
A new feature found on the MasterCase Pro 3 is the ability to remove and reposition the rail used to hold the drive racks. This can give you more room for larger watercooling gear or can simply be a way to clean up the internals.
