AKG K182 Studio Headphones Review @ Hardware Canucks
Here is a quick one page review of the AKG K182 studio headphones. I say one page because it would be rude to say 6 paragraphs Oh wait.
AKG's K182 headphones are a cut above most competitors. These are studio monitors, meant to satisfy the discerning customer are designed for use by video editors and those who demand near-perfect reference audio.
Personally I am a fan of studio style headphones since they are generally more comfortable than a gaming set and offer better sound quality. It isn’t so much a question of cost either but the curse of “look at me”.
Consider this, companies making gaming headsets feel they need to push the "style" envelope which often adversely impacts comfort. Plus to do "proper" surround sound you need multiple drivers in each earpiece which dictates that smaller speakers and the potential for shoddy sound quality.
Then again, this is all subjective considering that most users don't know what they are missing.
