How to Insulate for Single Stage Phase Cooling

Insulate Behind the CPU
To insulate the back of the motherboard I use two layers of Frostking insulation with one of the layers having a cutout that matches the CPU socket backplate. Since Frostking has a sticky side I also placed a small peice of paper towel into the relief to prevent any residue transfer.
The backplate goes over the insulation and is held in place with the long mounting rods.
At this point I make sure the mounting hardware is tight enough so it will clear on my motherboard tray and still loose enough not to crush any nearby surface components.
Once everything is set I can seal up around the mounting rods using some more kneaded eraser.

Moisture Wick
To prevent melted frost condensation from traveling around the motherboard I use some thick shop grade paper towels to absorb any water that may find its way to the motherboard. The paper also acts as a gasket between the evaporator head, and the kneaded eraser.
Preparing the paper towels is rather simple. Cut two inch strips lengthwise and then cut those strips in half. The resulting paper rectangles are then folded lengthwise and pushed down over the mounting rods. Do this around the 4 corners leaving entire processor and some of the socket exposed.
