Consumer Electronics Show 2015 Zotac Visit
Author: Dennis GarciaIntroduction
Zotac is an interesting company in that from an enthusiast standpoint they offer a bunch of products that never really get sold in the US and it would seem that trend could be changing. There were several video cards on display at the Zotac suite from a tiny mini ITX style GTX 970 to the AMP! Super Omega Extreme editions with fancy lights and large capacitors.
Now, while I would consider myself a smart person I have to admit the Zotac naming convention is very confusing and even after being told about the products I’m still trying to figure out if the Omega is better than Extreme or if Extreme is better than Omega. Either way the cards look great and the activity lights on the new heatsink are quite cool.
The Zotac ZBox has been the bread and butter for the company since they adopted the Mini ITX form factor many years ago. There where several versions on display including the EN860 with a Core i5 4200 series CPU and GeForce GTX 860M graphics card. Quite powerful for a small PC and still good enough to play a few games.
There were a couple mods in display including a mod of the Orb ZBox to look like a skull and this rather large case with an even larger reservoir filled with mayhems fluid.
