Introduction
Gaming has been a large part of the enthusiast community and often being mistaken for the same thing. In some cases this is true. Gamers go to great lengths to have the best experience in their games and enthusiast options like Multi GPU support and overclocking are only a small part of the equation. A good sound card can lower CPU dependency on sound reproduction leaving more power for game physics. Fast Ethernet controllers can obviously do the same or take things further by reordering game packets for smoother game play and faster response times.
You can build a gaming system from just about any motherboard however depending on your choices you may be left buying expensive expansion cards to replace the less than desirable onboard components. An alternative would be to look for a motherboard that better matches your needs, and in some cases, exceeds them. In this review we are looking at the G1 Killer Sniper 2 motherboard from Gigabyte. This is a Z68 based motherboard designed specifically for the avid gamer to provide convenience and simplicity in system design.
